still life
andrea and i selected random objects throughout the digital photo classroom. these objects have no meaning to me. i tried to arrange the objects from the biggest to the smallest so no object would be left out of frame. i also placed mirrors behind the still life so it would appear fuller and there would be less negative space. i placed the studio lights on both the right and left sides of the still life and took turns shutting each off. the shallow depth of field is more successful in my opinion because it highlights certain parts of the still life.

photo 1: i found this in my room. the objects were bunched together and some earrings were hanging down. there is a lot of shadow in this picture but also a large source of light from the back that highlights the rings. these rings don't mean very much to me but they are personal possessions of mine.
photo 2: these fruits were found in my kitchen. i arranged the fruit in a way that every fruit was shown and none were out of frame. the light was aimed down on the fruit from my kitchen lights. there are some examples of shadow in the bottom left corner. these objects represent life and health.
