group portrait: offshore dissent & good luck, kid
the groups i chose to photograph are the two bands my friends made: offshore dissent (jake perreault "vocals and guitar", andrew marshal "drums", tyler roundry "bass", and erick melanson "guitar") and good luck, kid (tyler roundry "vocals and guitar", erick melanson "guitar", and frank duffy "drums"). they both performed during an acoustic open mic at something's brewin' in lakeville, ma. the venue already had an interesting look to it, which made the portraits have more character. the photos were forced to be in b&w because the lighting was very dim in the venue, so i used my night vision setting to get the best lighting. i wasn't happy with the outcome because there was a lot of grain from the night vision. however, changing the exposure in photograph and using certain blurs got rid of a lot of the grain and also gave the photos an interesting look. i like how they came out after editing. the best photographs are the first and third photographs because they have the least amount of grain and motion blur.
