projected portraits
the subject for my portrait was myself, specifically my bird tattoo on my back. sydney took the photographs, but i composed the shots. i wanted to show my love of the ocean and nature but by using my tattoo to make the photos more personal. to do this, i took my seagull triple exposure photo from my junior photo book and used it for the projection. the shots were close up because of the casted shadow from the photographer. it also showed the main focus of the shot better than if it was far away. i chose not to show my face because it shows more about me. i'm a shy person when it comes to taking photos. the projection gives a textured effect to the photo and replicates waves. i think the viewer would get a sense of mystery and want to know more about the person in the photograph, which is usually the effect i want to get from my work.
