diptych photography
in the above photo, i chose to photograph a flower lying on a piano and a flower brooch. the brooch was a gold color and didn't coordinate with the other photo, which had a stronger color contrast, so i made it black and white. this photo has a manmade vs. nature concept: one flower is completely grown and living while the other in made of metal. there is a lot of line from both flowers and the piano.
in this photograph, i matched the photos by color. both also have a more delicate/soft subject matter. the color is very light, but the contrast of the darkened green on the flower kind of balances it out.
this diptych includes a photo of my bon iver vinyl and a city street in providence. the photos don't have relating subject matter, but they work together because of the similar colors. also, both feature reflection (the first from the window above the record, the second from the lights on the street).
